EPFO offers both a DSC and a free Aadhaar based e-Sign for authorised signatories. You do not have to buy a DSC if you would rather use e-Sign. The choice is yours.
How registration works
EPFO registers the DSC or e-Sign under the Establishment, then under DSC/e-Sign, with one-time approval by the Regional Office. The register path is: Establishment, then DSC/e-Sign, then Digital Signature Registration. Name and details must match
The name and details on the DSC or e-Sign must match the authorised signatory for the establishment. Before you apply, confirm with EPFO who the authorised signatory is for your establishment, and make sure the certificate is in that person’s name.
