A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for MCA and ROC work is a Class 3 signing certificate for the directors, designated partners and professionals who sign MCA21 forms. You link it once on MCA V3 with the correct role, and the portal’s Role Check then verifies the signatures on your eForms. This post covers who needs one, what the portal asks for, and how the linking works.
New directors need a DSC for a DIN or for SPICe+, the company incorporation form. Existing directors sign the annual forms on MCA V3. Designated partners of an LLP file LLP forms with a DSC. Professionals, the company secretaries and chartered accountants who certify MCA forms, use their own DSC for the certification. If you are both a director and a practising professional, you register for both roles.
MCA21 V3 accepts a Class 3 signing DSC, and the certificate must be linked with the correct role. The Role Check verifies that the digital signatures on an eForm belong to the company signatory or the practising professional. The certificate is issued against a PAN, so the PAN on the certificate must match the PAN held in the MCA records. One certificate serves one person. The portal does not ask for encryption for this work, so a signing certificate is enough. You do not need a combo.
You need your PAN card and your Aadhaar card linked to the mobile. The photo is captured in the Certifying Authority’s video KYC, so you do not send us a photo. For a company or an LLP, the application also carries the company proof and the authorisation: the authorisation letter, plus the board resolution if the signatory is not a director, and the authorised person’s ID proof. If the entity is GST-registered, the GST certificate is enough as proof; otherwise the incorporation or registration certificate, the entity PAN and the last three months’ bank statement are asked for.
Order and pay on the site, then send us your documents on WhatsApp, by email or at our Udaipur office. We fill and submit the application to the Certifying Authority for you. You then confirm your mobile and email with OTPs, complete the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with the Certifying Authority, and a final eKYC OTP on your phone approves the application. We assist you through the KYC. The certificate is issued on a USB token, which reaches you by courier or can be picked up from the office. Application support is included in the price. Current prices are on the Class 3 signing product page.
Once the certificate is on your token, you link it on MCA V3 yourself. Log in to the portal, open your profile and register the DSC against your role, director, designated partner or professional. Select the certificate from the plugged-in token and enter the PIN. The linking is done once per role. After that, the eForms you file carry your signature and the Role Check verifies it.
A DSC is issued for 1 to 3 years. After expiry, signing stops, so plan the reissue before the expiry date, especially if an annual filing is due. A certificate already on your token keeps working until it expires, so there is no gap if you plan ahead. After a reissue, register the new certificate on MCA V3 again. Our DSC for MCA and ROC filing page covers the same linking steps in more detail.
