DSC for Salumbar and Pratapgarh: Local Business Filings

Salumbar and Pratapgarh are the two southern districts of the Udaipur division that sit furthest from Udaipur city. Salumbar became a separate district in 2023 and is a trading hub for the villages around it. Pratapgarh is known for Thewa art, a gold on glass jewellery tradition. Businesses in both districts file on the same national and state portals as Udaipur, and that is where the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) comes in. This post covers which certificate you need and how delivery works.

Salumbar and Pratapgarh’s businesses

Salumbar was carved out of the erstwhile Udaipur district on 7 August 2023. The town is a trading hub for nearby villages and is known for gold and silver jewellery.

Pratapgarh’s DIPR industrial profile lists a Thewa art cluster, where gold is worked onto glass to make jewellery, and a bamboo and lantana wood cluster. Marble is among the district’s minerals.

These businesses share the same DSC touchpoints as the rest of the division.

GST. Companies, LLPs, unlimited companies, foreign companies, foreign LLPs and public sector undertakings must sign GST returns through an authorised signatory using a DSC. Other taxpayers can use EVC or Aadhaar eSign. The GST portal accepts PAN based Class II and III certificates.

MCA and ROC. Directors, managers, secretaries and practising professionals register their DSC as business users on MCA21 V3, and the portal’s Role Check verifies that digital signatures on eForms belong to the company signatory or practising professional.

Tenders. Rajasthan eProc requires a Class 3 DSC from a licensed Certifying Authority for e-filing on the eTendering portal.

Which certificate you need

A Class 3 signing certificate covers GST, MCA and ROC forms, income tax and EPFO. A Class 3 combo certificate adds an encryption certificate on the same token and is the safer choice for e-tendering on other states’ portals or India-wide portals. For Rajasthan eProc, a Class 3 signing DSC is enough. A USB token add-on is available if your token was bought before 21 September 2026. For organisation certificates, the name on the PAN must match the name in the portal profile and the certificate; any discrepancy in spelling, abbreviations or order of names will cause a mismatch.
