DSC for Foreign Nationals and Foreign Directors in Udaipur

On this page

Foreign nationals who sit on the board of an Indian company, or who sign filings for a company they are setting up in India, need a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) just like any other director. The process is run from Udaipur, and the certificate is issued by an Indian Certifying Authority after document checks and video KYC. This post covers who needs one, what the process looks like, and how we help.

Who needs a foreign national DSC

A foreign national appointed as a director of an Indian company needs a DSC to sign MCA forms and to complete a Director Identification Number (DIN) application. NRIs who sign filings for Indian companies need one too. If you are setting up a company in India with foreign directors, each foreign director needs their own certificate.

GST adds another case. The GST registration FAQ names foreign companies and foreign LLPs as entities that must sign through a DSC, alongside public limited companies, private limited companies, LLPs and public sector undertakings.

What the Certifying Authority requires

A foreign applicant needs a passport copy, overseas address proof, a recent photo, and an email and mobile number. The overseas address proof may need notarisation or apostille, depending on what the Certifying Authority requests. The Certifying Authority runs the document checks and then the video KYC, which you can complete from anywhere with a phone or computer.

The certificate is issued in your name and maps to the details you give the CA. For MCA, you register the DSC on MCA V3 in the appropriate role, and the portal’s Role Check verifies that digital signatures on eForms belong to the company signatory or practising professional.

How we help from Udaipur

We are a Registration Authority (RA) for VSign, Capricorn, eMudhra, Sify, nCODE and PantaSign. These CCA-licensed Certifying Authorities issue the certificates. We process foreign national applications from Udaipur with phone and email support. Once the certificate is issued, the USB token is delivered by courier across India. If your token was bought on or after 21 September 2026, you can use that instead. Application support is included, so you can call, WhatsApp or email us if you get stuck on any step.

The foreign national DSC has no listed price, because the price depends on your documents. Send us the company and the state you are filing in, and we will quote before you pay anything.

Documents and next steps
