# DSC for TRACES (TDS portal)

Deductors, that is employers, companies and banks, need a Class 3 signing DSC to file TDS statements and corrections on TRACES. Employees who only download Form 16 do not need one. We help you get a paperless DSC through Aadhaar eKYC and video verification; the certificate is issued by a licensed Certifying Authority. 1 to 2 hours in Udaipur once the certificate is issued; same or next day in nearby towns; within 72 hours by Speed Post across India. ## Documents required

- PAN card, name as per income tax records
- Aadhaar card, linked to that PAN and to the mobile. Photo and ID are captured live in the CA's video KYC.
- Email ID and mobile number for the DSC record

## Process

1. **Send us your documents.** Send them on WhatsApp, by email or at our Udaipur office, and we fill the application
2. **Complete payment.** Pay for the DSC and any add-ons
3. **We submit, you do the KYC.** We file the application with the Certifying Authority. You then confirm your mobile and email with OTPs, do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with them, and a final eKYC OTP on your phone approves the application. We assist you at every step.
4. **Receive token and register.** Get the USB token by courier (or use your own FIPS 140-3 token) and register the DSC on TRACES

## Frequently asked questions

**Is DSC mandatory for TRACES?**

For deductors, yes. If you are an employee who only downloads Form 16, you do not need a DSC.

**Can I use the same DSC for TRACES and Income Tax e-Filing?**

Yes. Register separately on each portal.

**How do I register my DSC on TRACES?**

After the certificate is on your token, log in to TRACES, go to Profile, Signature, Register DSC, select the certificate and enter the PIN.

**What is the TRACES DSC Utility?**

It is the portal's own signing tool. TRACES uses it to read your certificate from the token when you sign a statement or file.

**What if my DSC expires and I need to file corrections?**

Signing stops after expiry. Get a reissued DSC before you file.
