# DSC for Startup India and the National Single Window System

The Startup India playbook lists the digital signature certificate of the director, partner or authorised signatory among the documents for DPIIT recognition. On the National Single Window System the same kind of certificate is added to the authorised signatory's profile and can be attached to an approval form. We fill and submit the application for you; you do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with the Certifying Authority, which issues the certificate. Application support is included in the price.

## Who needs this

- Founders applying for DPIIT recognition under Startup India
- Directors, partners and authorised signatories applying on behalf of an entity
- Anyone adding a certificate to their profile on the National Single Window System
- Entities that want one certificate for Startup India and MCA

## Documents required

- PAN card, name as per income tax records
- Aadhaar card, linked to that PAN and to the mobile. Photo and ID are captured live in the CA's video KYC.
- Email ID and mobile number for the DSC record
- For a company or firm: the authorisation letter and the registration documents of the entity

## Process

1. **Send us your documents.** Send your contact details and documents on WhatsApp, by email or at our Udaipur office, and we fill the application.
2. **Complete payment.** Pay for the DSC and any add-ons
3. **We submit, you do the KYC.** We file the application with the Certifying Authority. You then confirm your mobile and email with OTPs, do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with them, and a final eKYC OTP on your phone approves the application. We assist you at every step.
4. **Receive token and register on the portal.** Get the USB token by courier (or use your own FIPS 140-3 token), then open your profile, go to Authorised Signatory Details, enter your PAN, choose Add Digital Signature Certificate and enter the token PIN.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is a DSC required for Startup India registration?**

Yes, for DPIIT recognition. The Startup India playbook lists the certificate of the director, partner or authorised signatory who applies on behalf of the entity among the documents.

**Company DSC or individual DSC for DPIIT?**

The playbook says the certificate of the director, partner or authorised signatory, so it is in that person's name. It does not ask for a certificate in the company's name.

**Can I use the same DSC on NSWS and MCA?**

Yes, the same Class 3 signing certificate. NSWS links one certificate to one PAN, so the certificate has to carry the signatory's own PAN.

**Why does NSWS say my DSC is already linked?**

NSWS allows one certificate against one PAN. If a certificate is already attached to that PAN on the portal, remove or change it there before you add the new one.

**How do I register the certificate on NSWS?**

Open your profile, go to Authorised Signatory Details, enter your PAN, choose Add Digital Signature Certificate and enter the token PIN. Each new project asks for it again.

**Does every NSWS approval need a DSC?**

No. The certificate can be attached to an approval form, and the portal's own guides treat it as one way of identifying a signatory. Which approvals ask for it is not published as one list, so ask us about the particular approval you are filing.

We are a Registration Authority (RA) for XtraTrust, VSign, eMudhra, Sify, nCODE and PantaSign. They are CCA-licensed Certifying Authorities, and they issue the certificates. We are not a Certifying Authority.
