# DSC for PAN and TAN applications

The PAN and TAN application portal offers a DSC mode, where the form is signed online with a certificate instead of being printed and posted. A TAN application signed with a DSC needs no documents sent at all, and a PAN application in DSC mode is paperless. We fill and submit the application for you; you do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with the Certifying Authority, which issues the certificate. Application support is included in the price.

## Who needs this

- Firms, trusts and companies applying for a new PAN
- Businesses applying for a new TAN
- Consultants applying for a client's PAN or TAN
- Anyone who would rather sign an application than send papers

## Documents required

- PAN card, name as per income tax records
- Aadhaar card, linked to that PAN and to the mobile. Photo and ID are captured live in the CA's video KYC.
- Email ID and mobile number for the DSC record
- For a firm, trust or company: the authorisation letter and the registration documents of the entity

## Process

1. **Send us your documents.** Send your contact details and documents on WhatsApp, by email or at our Udaipur office, and we fill the application.
2. **Complete payment.** Pay for the DSC and any add-ons
3. **We submit, you do the KYC.** We file the application with the Certifying Authority. You then confirm your mobile and email with OTPs, do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with them, and a final eKYC OTP on your phone approves the application. We assist you at every step.
4. **Receive token and sign the application.** Get the USB token by courier (or use your own FIPS 140-3 token), then start the application on the portal, choose the DSC mode at the signature step, pick the certificate from the token and enter the PIN.

## Frequently asked questions

**What does a DSC based PAN application mean?**

It is the mode where the online application is signed with a digital signature certificate instead of the applicant signing on paper and sending it in.

**Is a DSC required for a TAN application?**

No. It is one of the modes the portal offers. With a DSC no documents are sent, which is the point of using it.

**Whose name must be on the certificate?**

The applicant's name on a PAN application, and the verifier's name on a TAN application. For a minor, the representative assessee signs.

**Which class of DSC does the portal accept?**

Class 2 or Class 3. We issue Class 3 signing, which the portal accepts.

**Can a partnership firm apply for PAN with a DSC?**

Yes. The partner who signs the application signs with a certificate in their own name.

**Is every PAN application paperless with a DSC?**

Not every one. Form 49AA, for a foreign citizen or resident, still needs some documents in physical form. Send those to us with the rest.

We are a Registration Authority (RA) for XtraTrust, VSign, eMudhra, Sify, nCODE and PantaSign. They are CCA-licensed Certifying Authorities, and they issue the certificates. We are not a Certifying Authority.
