# DSC for GeM seller registration and bidding in Udaipur

Sellers and service providers on GeM sign bids and contracts with a Class 3 signing DSC, registered under the seller profile on the portal. Foreign sellers must use a DSC. Domestic sellers can also sign with an OTP on their Aadhaar-linked mobile or with an e-Sign, so a DSC is the choice for anyone who bids often or files on more than one portal. We fill and submit the application for you; you do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with the Certifying Authority, which issues the certificate. Application support is included in the price.

## Who needs this

- Sellers and service providers registered on GeM
- Firms bidding on GeM tenders
- Foreign sellers, who must sign with a DSC
- Anyone who wants one certificate for GeM and the other portals

## Documents required

- PAN card, name as per income tax records
- Aadhaar card, linked to that PAN and to the mobile. Photo and ID are captured live in the CA's video KYC.
- Email ID and mobile number for the DSC record
- For a company, LLP or firm: the authorisation letter and the registration documents of the entity

## Process

1. **Send us your documents.** Send your contact details and documents on WhatsApp, by email or at our Udaipur office, and we fill the application.
2. **Complete payment.** Pay for the DSC and any add-ons
3. **We submit, you do the KYC.** We file the application with the Certifying Authority. You then confirm your mobile and email with OTPs, do the Aadhaar OTP and video KYC with them, and a final eKYC OTP on your phone approves the application. We assist you at every step.
4. **Receive token and register on GeM.** Get the USB token by courier (or use your own FIPS 140-3 token), then add the certificate to your seller profile on GeM, so the portal can use it when you submit a bid.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is a DSC needed for GeM seller registration?**

For signing, yes. Foreign sellers must sign with a DSC. Domestic sellers can also sign with an OTP on their Aadhaar-linked mobile or with an e-Sign, and many start that way.

**Can a domestic seller use an OTP instead of a DSC?**

Yes, GeM lets a domestic seller sign with an OTP or an e-Sign. A DSC is what you take when you bid often, when the OTP is inconvenient, or when you want the same certificate for GST, MCA and the tender portals.

**How do I register my DSC on GeM?**

Log in to your GeM seller account, open the DSC option under the seller profile settings, and add the certificate from the plugged-in token with its PIN.

**What is the difference between the primary and secondary user DSC?**

The primary user is the person who owns the seller account, and the certificate is registered in that name. A secondary user is added by the primary user and signs on behalf of the seller.

**Can a foreign seller use a foreign DSC?**

The certificate has to be issued by a CCA-licensed Certifying Authority in India, because the portal trusts the Indian PKI. We supply the certificate; the identity documents you send decide whether a foreign national or a normal Indian application is the right route.

**Can I use the same DSC on GeM and other portals?**

Yes. The same Class 3 signing DSC works on GeM, GST, MCA, EPFO and the tender portals. Each portal registers it once, on its own.

**Is a new token needed every time?**

Only if it is FIPS 140-3. Since 21 September 2026 new certificates cannot go on older FIPS 140-2 tokens, so any token bought before then will not work. A new token is an add-on at checkout.

We are a Registration Authority (RA) for VSign, Capricorn, eMudhra, Sify, nCODE and PantaSign. They are CCA-licensed Certifying Authorities, and they issue the certificates. We are not a Certifying Authority.
